Vintage Mexican Tonala Spice Jar with Lid Small Canister Burnished Ceramic Pottery with Bird Flower Leaf Design Made in Mexico Clay Folk Art
This great old Mexican Tonala jar is 3" in diameter and 5.75" tall with the lid (the jar itself is 4" tall.) It is a clay piece and has a wonderful design of a white bird, and gray flowers and plants on the jar and the lid. The border is accented with gray and black bands The painting is done in subtle and natural colors of gray, white, and a deep, rusty pinkish-red color. The bottom of the jar is marked MEXICO.
The jar is in very nice condition, however there is a small chip on the underside of the lid and a chip in the base of the jar - these 2 chips are shown in detail in the last 2 photos. There are some light and scratches here and there around the jar.
