Vintage GALENA POTTERY Stoneware Vase or Planter Black Grey Green Handmade Artist Signed Welk 1995 Galena Illinois
This nice pottery vase or planter was made by Galena Pottery in 1995. It has a has an interesting traditional shape and style with a more modern color scheme, creating a fun mix of old and new. The bottom 2/3 of the vase os black, and the top is a forest green color. The vase has a mixture of matte and glossy finishes - the black areas are more glossy and the green is matte. The vase is 4.75" tall and 4" in diameter. It is stamped on the bottom with a makers mark that reads: HAND MADE / USA / GALENA POTTERY / GALENA, ILLINOIS. It is also hand signed by the artist: WELK '95.
The vase is in very good condition with no chips or cracsk. The green glaze is thin along the rim, exposing small areas of the tan pottery beneath. It would also make a great planter, however there are no drainage holes in the bottom. Great piece of Galena Pottery!
